Service, health/science, food, and the arts have always been integral to my world. When I saw just the homeless community with no resources [at the height of the COVID shutdown], I had to do something. I like to cook so making "One More Plate" wasn't a big deal. I had no idea that it would turn into this but I am grateful for what we've done and excited for what we'll do in the future. And I believe that our success is a clear demonstration that our communities already have the resources to take care of themselves.
Before founding One More Plate, I completed my Ph.D./Postdoctoral studies in Tumor Biology at Georgetown University and was a contestant on Netflix's Dance Monsters. I enjoy a professional life split between the arts and science and One More Plate is my example of service. On my own time, I enjoy laughing with friends and family, my bestest girl, Baeli, and of course...EATING!

I have been passionate about serving for as long as I can remember. In 2021, when One More Plate came across my feed, I knew I needed to be a part of it. During my time serving, I noticed that no matter where we served or who, everyone wanted one thing - to be heard. The grassroots approach of this organization has allowed me to honor the beauty of community solidarity in all aspects of my life.
My service to D.C. has extended to other issues, including volunteering at a local law clinic enforcing workers’ rights throughout the DMV area. When I’m not serving the community, I enjoy grabbing burritos and tajin in Columbia Heights and hiking around D.C. in search of the best breakfast sandwich. Before joining One More Plate, I received my B.A. in International Relations and my M.A. in Global Security.
